ABOUT

Born in Portadown, Northern Ireland, Marcus Slease has made his home in Turkey, Poland, Italy, South Korea, the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom – experiences that inform his nomadic surrealist writing. His writing has been translated into Danish and Polish, featured in the Best British Poetry series and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best Microfiction, and Best of the Net. His stories, essays, poems, and reviews have appeared in various anthologies and magazines in Europe and North America, including Tin House, Fence, 3:AM, Sprung Formal, Rain Taxi, Poetry, and Versopolis Review. He has performed his work at various festivals and art galleries in Prague, Madrid, London, Bristol, Manchester, North Carolina, and Ireland. He is from a working class background and currently teaches high school in Barcelona. His debut novel, Never Mind the Beasts, is available from Dostoyevsky Wannabe
