Throwback to 2013 when a few of my micro fictions (“Northern Cream” and “I Love Beaver”) found a home in Issue 8 of Lil’ Sprung Formal.
“Northern Cream” is a distant dream—I actually wrote it in celebration of William Burroughs for an exhibition! Bits of Mark E Smith (from The Fall) in there along with William Burroughs.
I was on the panel that day alongside Ian MacFayden (I still have a nice signed book from him), Peter Jaeger, and Barry Miles. Huge thanks to Edmund Ogawa Hardy for bringing me on as a guest writer.
It’s nice to revisit these little zingers. I miss the mind that wrote those. Does anyone else remember the Burroughs exhibit in London at the Parasol Unit Foundation for Contemporary Art? It was on January 15th, 2013, titled On Beat.
Thank you to Sprung Formal (The Kansas City Art Institute’s Literary Arts Journal) for publishing them. Always a fab, unique mag!
