Summer Reading

An exhausting, and rewarding, year of high school teaching has ended. I am sliding into summer with the readings. Essays of Tony Hoagland (Twenty Poems That Could Save America and other essays), short stories of Raymond Carver. Selected Philip Levine, Sharon Olds, and Carl Dennis. Tony Hoagland’s Application for Release from the Dream. Hoagland is becoming a favourite again after loving him in graduate school in 2001. His Turn Up the Ocean is the only book left to read. Gonna order soon.
